UN Eswatini, in partnership with the Eswatini Editors Forum is hosting a training workshop on Data Journalism for 20 Journalists and 12 UN personnel who are members of the UN Communications Group (UNCG) which comprises of Communications Officers from all UN Agencies in the country.
Data Journalism is a set of skills and techniques that reporters can use to analyze data and use it for in-depth reporting especially on issues relating to Agenda 2030 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The training will be held over two days on the 8th and 9th December 2021 at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Mbabane. It is led by Mr Adi Ayal an acclaimed data researcher, open data activists and digital technologist from South Africa.
Mr Ayal has won numerous awards for his work in the media innovation including the Vodacom Journalist of the Year, the Tuco Kuiper Award for investigative Journalism and the Global Shining Light Award for Investigative Journalism.
