The first two emaSwati students based in Ukraine arrived in Eswatini yesterday. They were received by family and senior government officials in an emotional homecoming. This is part of Government’s efforts to evacuate emaSwati students following the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Government reported that 62 students have registered for evacuation. Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in constant contact with students and parents to arrange logistics.

Most of the students are waiting for their flights back home with 14 students expected to arrive home by Friday. A parent who spoke to EDN said she was grateful to Eswatini Government for covering all the expenses to bring their children home safely.
