Central Bank Lifts Country’s Flag High

By: Ntombi Mhlongo

The Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) has put the country on the map.

According to a statement posted on its website and social media pages, the bank joined winners of the Central Banking Awards 2022 to accept and celebrate the Website of the Year Award during a virtual awards presentation held yesterday. This follows the announcement of CBE by the Central Banking Awards Committee as the best 2021 Central Bank website in the world made earlier this year.

The website states that the annual Central Banking Awards, now in their ninth year, recognize excellence in the central banking community.

“I am deeply honoured to accept this prestigious Central Banking Award, on behalf of the Central Bank of Eswatini. We receive this Award, fresh from a strategy review session where we have recommitted ourselves to be an agile and innovative central Bank that strategically collaborates with all stakeholders within our ecosystem to enable and sustain financial stability in the Kingdom of Eswatini. This Award will definitely inspire the entire team at the Central Bank of Eswatini,” outgoing Governor Majozi Sithole said in his acceptance speech.

The bank mentioned that the website is a symbolic balance of its rich culture and technology advancements that caters for the needs of its ever-evolving stakeholders, something that is unique, aligned to its strategic focus and that it will maintain right into the near future.

It was mentioned that post this award, the Central Bank of Eswatini will continue to share carefully curated content to drive public engagement and education across all media platforms to empower the public with accurate information.
