The Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation is set to undertake a one-day working visit to the Kingdom of Eswatini.
According to a statement issued on the SADC website, the chairperson is set to engage in consultations with His Majesty King Mswati III.
The working visit is informed by the commitment of President Hage Geingob to implement decisions of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation.
The SADC Organ Summit that was held on 16 August 2022 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, at which President Geingob assumed the role of the Chairperson of the Organ reinforced the need for the
SADC Organ to work for a peaceful and stable SADC Region.
He comes to the country during a turbulent period with sporadic protests and arson attacks allegedly executed by Swaziland International Solidarity Forces (SISF).
