Man stabs girlfriend with screwdriver

A man is facing charges of contravening the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend with a screwdriver on the shoulder and chest.

Wandile Mbuso Dlamini (28) of Sigwe area under Chief GasawaNgwane was arrested and charged with contravening Section 77 (1) (a) of the SODV Act 15 of 2018 for committing the mentioned crime.

The incident reportedly took place in Mbabane last Friday. Appearing before Magistrate Thembela Shongwe, Dlamini conducted his own defence, wherein he moved a bail application which was granted at E1 500 on the condition that he attends all remands, does not commit a similar offence and does not interfere with witnesses.

He is set to return to court on January 27 pending trial on February 13.
