EYEP registration deadline extended to March 31

By Bongiwe Zwane-Maseko

Due to an overwhelming response to the call for registrations for the Eswatini Youth Empowerment Programme (EYEP) targeted at unemployed graduates and school leavers, the deadline has been postponed from 31st January to 31st March 2023.

The postponement was confirmed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Head of Youth Programme Zenanile Dlamini.

“As this is a new registration platform and programme, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to apply and have decided to extend the call to 28 February. Making sure our programme is inclusive and opportunities are equal for all, we will be supporting youth in rural areas who have more difficult access to the internet. Plans to physically reach the Lubombo and Shiselweni regions are being conceptualised so that we increase uptake in these areas,” she said.

She encouraged young people not to shy away from this great opportunity, saying everyone has a fair chance to be selected if they fall within the eligibility criteria.

“We particularly would like to encourage those from rural areas, women, and youth with special needs to apply. This is an opportunity for all to make the first step in realising their aspiration for a better future,” Dlamini said.
