The past few days have seen the housemates start to show us who they really are. This is not surprising at all because at first, they were trying to settle and did not reveal much about themselves.
Throughout all the crazy scenes, the viewers were not ready for what was to be the outcome of the voting for who should be evicted. While we all understand that it’s a game and some housemates have to be evicted so that in the end there is a winner, the first eviction was shocking, to say the least.
Worst of all is that perhaps most Big Brother viewers are not used to paired evictions. Coming to the evicted housemates, it was interesting to hear what they had to say and how they felt about being voted out.
The first of the evicted housemates, Theo Traw, spilt a few beans about life in the house and how he viewed the whole voting setup. In his view, he did not get to engage much with the rest of the housemates. He said, “I did not get much from them in terms of trying to have conversations”.
Well, perhaps he has himself to blame because he did not put in much effort in terms of building relationships with the housemates. As for the other evicted housemate, Sandra, it was nice to see that she did not put much blame on her fellow housemates but admitted that with her crazy attitude, she was bound to be unpopular in the house.
She rightly put it by saying, “I was stepping on toes and cracking necks”. Besides the shocking eviction, the past few days have seen some of the housemates engaging in constant fights. The big one was witnessed when Theo became upset during the wager task deliberation and screamed the ‘f’ word to the housemates, something which obviously is against the rules of the game.
As expected, some of the housemates, especially Jucy Jay did not take kindly to their utterances by Theo and confronted him. Also not taking it kindly was Jenni O who simply tucked it in. The sad reality, which is why the paired eviction is not good, is that when that housemate you are paired with engages in a fight, it puts you at risk of disqualification.
That is why when Jenni O took the matter personally, her partner (Mmeli) had to try and calm things down.
“I do not want to be disqualified. You will be a celebrity after this and I will be an influencer, please don’t do this,” Mmeli screamed.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
*Mzansi’s hot girl, Khosi, is seemingly a favourite to most of the male housemates. While we were all for her on-and-off romance with Yemi, she seems to be getting all the affection she wants from the other housemates, especially on those days when Yemi seems uninterested or flirts with other female housemates.
The highlight in the past few days was when she asked Thabang if he was not going to the meeting with other housemates and he gave a naughty response saying, “I was going but I noticed something is missing in my heart so I said let me go to Mzansi (upstairs room) I will find it”.
*That kissing moment between Yemi and Khosi was an irresistible highlight especially based on the chat they had. Khosi made it clear that she wished a miracle would happen so that her life would stop being complicated. When Yemi asked how she made it known that she wanted him to like her out loud and stop being with her and then go on and be with ‘that’ other person.
*Also a romantic highlight was that of Marvin and Jaypee having a cosy moment where they had a chat about being attracted to each other. While we were not ready for this one, it sounded nice to hear Marvin declare his plans to navigate his feelings for other female housemates. Whether he will achieve this or not, time will tell!
