The Minister of Commerce was speaking during the official visit of the delegation from the Republic of Bangladesh in Ezulwini on Tuesday, where he further shared information on his investment mission and meetings with the business community in Dhaka, Bangladesh in July 2022.

Khumalo had five bilateral meetings with the Bangladeshi business community including the chairman of Globe Pharmaceuticals Group of companies where they agreed that there was a need for greater cooperation on areas of mutual interest.

He further met with the Ministry of Agriculture in Bangladesh where it was agreed that a delegation from the Bangladesh Ministry of Agriculture would visit Eswatini to reassess the physical conditions of all irrigation facilities, the potential of agriculture research as well as the production levels, and available technologies.

The Commerce minister further met with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

“As the largest textile industry in the world, a discussion was held on ways we can collaborate with BGMEA for the benefit of our textile sector. There is interest to establish factories in Eswatini as a gateway to other markets,” said Khumalo.

The minister further visited the BEXIMCO Industrial Park and met with the Walton Group of factories.
