A fallen powerline temporarily disturbs power at Lobamba

By Khulile Thwala

A fallen powerline has had a temporary disturbance to customers residing at Lobamba, the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has said.

The company, through its social media pages, has stated that alternative means have been provided to ensure the continuity of power supply in the affected areas.

Motorists have been diverted towards Manzana while the EEC team isolates and removes the powerline.

“Customers, especially motorists, are hereby informed of a fallen 66KV transmission powerline in Lobamba which has affected traffic along the Somhlolo National Stadium and Parliament.”

The cause of the fallen powerline is purported to be heavy winds accompanied by rains that took place in the affected area on Monday.
