Incessant rain caused the abandonment of the eagerly-awaited MTN league clash between treasure-hunting Young Buffaloes and struggling Nsingizini Hotspurs at Mhlume Stadium on Sunday.
The match was called off when it was only 26 minutes old by match referee Thembinkosi Dlamini after consultation with the match commissioner Sipho Kunene.

The two sides were still locked at nil-nil. Despite that, the army side was the more enterprising side having fashioned a few chances before the match was called off.
The two sides played to a 1-all draw in the first round on November 12, 2022, at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium. Nsingizini Hotspurs president Derrick Shiba said it was unfortunate that the game could not go on but his side will continue with preparations for the next match.
“There is nothing we can do. It’s mother nature. We have to continue working hard because we have not been getting good results,†Shiba said.
Nsingizini Hotspurs are winless in eight games while the army side has not tasted defeat this season.
