Green Mamba on top of MTN log with nine games remaining

By Lwazi Dlamini

With nine games remaining, Green Mamba will spend the whole week on top of the MTN league ‘tree’ following Saturday’s 1-0 win over relegation threatened Manzini Wanderers at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground.

The ‘Correctional Services’ side will remain on top after the nearest challengers Young Buffaloes had their clash against Nsingizini Hotspurs called off on Sunday due to inclement weather.

Ernest Mavuso’s charges condemned Manzini Wanderers to an 11th defeat of a nightmarish season when Khethokuhle Mkhontfo scored in the 20th minute to ensure the green and white outfit recorded their seventh straight win and maintained pole position with 40 points.
