Black Coffee’s star continues to shine as he is set to become the first South African DJ/producer to headline Madison Square Garden.
According to Billboard, the show which was announced on Friday (March 10), will take place on October 7, 2023, and tickets will be made available for American Express members on March 14, while Black Coffee’s top Spotify listeners can buy tickets on March 16, with tickets opening to the public on March 17.

Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo was also the first South African artist to ever win a Grammy Award for best dance/electronic album.
The October show, Black Coffee’s largest U.S. set to date, will feature him, a 12-piece orchestra, surprise guests and a 360-degree stage setup, according to Billboard.

“Today’s announcement is one of those that just becomes difficult to put into words,” the artist said in a statement.

The first African artist to sell out Madison Square Garden was Burna Boy who performed in front of 20 000 people on April 28, 2022.
