Lindo, Sikhumbuzo get a call-up to Sihlangu for the Cape Verde clash

By Lwazi Dlamini

Former Young Buffaloes right full-back Lindo Mkhonta has bounced back into the national team after being called up to join the squad in the full-time camp which began on Monday at the Technical Centre.

Mkhonta, who now plies his trade with Zambian top side Zesco United, has been called up with Young Buffaloes defender, Siboniso Mamba who scored a hat-trick in the army side’s 6-2 annihilation of Manzini Sea Birds at Nsukuwansuku Stadium on Saturday.
Also getting a call-up from the Dominic Kunene-coached side is Royal Leopard shot-stopper Ncamiso ‘Mbhonyo’ Dlamini and left full-back Sikhumbuzo Magagula.

According to a press statement released by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) on Monday, the three players are expected to join the squad immediately.

Sihlangu is set to face the ‘Blue Sharks’ of Cape Verde in the TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 qualifier scheduled for March 25 and March 28.

Sihlangu will play the first leg away in Cape Verde before hosting the second leg at Mbombela Stadium as no venue is fit enough to host international matches in the country.
