Operations have returned to normal at South Africa’s busiest airport, OR Tambo International following a bomb threat on an international flight.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) released a statement on Tuesday afternoon saying the aircraft that was alleged to have been carrying a bomb has been declared safe.

ACSA confirmed that it received a notification of an alleged bomb on-board board a Singapore airline, SQ 478 on Tuesday morning, March 14.
The aircraft landed at O.R Tambo International Airport where it was grounded. Emergency services were activated along with Fire and Rescue and South African Police Service (SAPS).

At approximately 11:39 am, the aircraft was declared safe after the screening was completed by K9 units.
“As ACSA, we will continue to act swiftly to prioritise the safety of all our passengers,” reads the statement.
