A king is chosen by God and not voted for. This is according to a sermon by pastor Moses Warren during a service for pastors at Ngabezweni Royal Residence.

Pastors from all over the country assembled at the royal residence where they will be addressed by His Majesty King Mswati III. Warren read from 2nd Samuel 7:8-12. He said his takeaway from the verse was that God took David, who was just a Shepard and made him King.

He said God saw that David was worthy and deserved to be King. Warren said no one voted for David, but he was chosen. He added that David was King for his whole life and did not only rule for a few years. Warren also said God also said after David’s demise, He would choose his son to rule, and He chose Solomon.

Warren said His Majesty was also chosen by the heavens and no one should choose how many days he would rule. He then ways of emaSwati we’re godly and a king is not voted for.

He added that emaSwati should not be led a strayed from the ways of their forefathers. Warren said a King is chosen by God and after their demise, the King’s child will take over.

He said finding such will lead to the country being peaceful. Other pastors who attended the service agreed with Warren and he received a round of applause.
