Another arrest has been made in the case involving Facebook rapist Thabo Bester.
South African media has reported that a security guard of the G4S, the Mangaung Prison and Private Prisons company, is set to appear in court for allegedly aiding Bester to escape from prison.
According to the TimesLive online publication, the 51-year-old man, arrested on Tuesday at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in Bloemfontein, is expected to appear in the city’s magistrate’s court on

He joins Bester’s partner Dr Nandipha Magudumana, her father Zolile Sekeleni, former G4S prison warder Senohe Matsoara and ex-CCTV technician Teboho Lipholo in connection with Bester’s escape.
The publication quoted Police spokesperson Brig Athlenda Mathe saying that the guard faces a charge of assisting an inmate to escape and defeating the ends of justice.
Meanwhile, Bester appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court last Friday for the first time since he was recaptured after his escape last year, and he will be back in court on May 16.

On the other hand, Dr Nandipha, who was Bester’s accomplice, also appeared in court for her alleged role in helping Bester escape from prison. Her father was granted E10 000 bail in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.
Thee The G4S management has already been hauled before the Parliament of South Africa to provide answers regarding the escape of Bester.
During the session, Members of Parliament (MPs) posed various questions to the GTS4 management team to ascertain what could have contributed to the escape of the convict.
