A 44-year-old man has been arrested for assaulting his mother.
Sipho Dlamini of Gobholo area was on May 27 arrested and charged with one count of contravening Section 77 (1) (a) of the Sexual Offence and Domestic Violence Act 15 of 2018 for assaulting his mother Sibusisiwe Ndzinisa.
Dlamini allegedly assaulted Ndzinisa with a stick several times on her body. He made his first appearance at the Mbabane Magistrates Court before Magistrate Lenhle Zulu, where he opted to conduct his defence.

The crown moved an application to have Dlamini remanded back to police custody pending trial, however, bail was not opposed.
Dlamini moved a bail application which that was granted by Magistrate Zulu at E2Â 000 with bail conditions, which include not interfering with state witnesses, attending all remand hearings and trials, and not committing a similar offence.
He is set to return to court on June 1 for setting a trial date.
