Thobani Nzuza to grace Thembinkosi’s Birthday Party

MULTI-award-winning actor Thobani Nzuza will grace the birthday party of 23:28 Lounge owner, Thembinkosi Mthethwa Birthday Party as a guest of honour. Scheduled for the 23:28 Lounge on September 22, the event will also see South African Deep House artist Soul Freakah performing.

The guest artists will be supported by a lineup of DJ Cup, Slotta, The Bishops, and Kiiz Studios and the MC will be Mdura and the recommended dress code is ‘All Black’. The entry fee to the event is E50.
Thobani Nzuza is a South African actor, director, playwright, vocalist, and dancer. He is best known for his roles in the television serials eHostela, Uzalo, and DiepCity.

In 2010, he studied drama and joined a Community Arts Center. During this period, he got the opportunity to learn drama acting under renowned artist Buhle ‘Bo’ Mlazi. In 2014, he made his acting debut on the stage play ‘Silencing the Hurricanes’, which was produced by ThemiVenturas and performed in Bangkok. After these projects’ success, Nzuza later wrote and directed the stage play ‘ShintshaGuluva’ for the Isigcawu Festival.

The play received critics acclaim and Nzuza won the Best Director award as well. In 2015, he performed in the stage play ‘Secret Valley of the Great Kings’ and was later nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Durban Mercury Theatre Awards. He then collaborated with Kagiso Tsimakwane to write and direct the play of a one-man show titled Boy Ntulikazi in 2015, which received numerous awards.

In 2016, Thobani represented at the Shakespeare Festival in Germany with the play ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, which was directed by Debbie Lutge. In 2018, he played the role of ‘Mdeni’ in the Mzansi Magic drama serial, eHostela. After that popularity, he joined the eTV supernatural telenovela Isipho. In the same year, he played the role ‘Khehla’ in the renowned soapie Uzalo.

In an interview with the event organiserThembinkosi Mthethwa, he said Thobani Nzuza is like a brother to him, and they come a long way. He assured the attendees of a good experience as the line-up was varied, well-blended and well-curated. He added that he hopes that the event will create a platform for networking and having fun.

“People should come as there is still a surprise guest. People should expect to have lots of fun and surprises on the night,” he stated.
