Ntando joins star-studded lineup for Msandi Ka Baba’s spectacular show

Popular South African musician Ntando has been added to the already star-studded lineup for Msandi Ka Baba’s highly anticipated show at House on Fire on Friday.

Sponsored by Eswatini Mobile and Eswatini Meat Industries, this event promises to be a night to remember for music lovers.

The show, which will take place this coming Friday, boasts an impressive lineup that includes the likes of Velemseni, John Cindi, Mlindo the Vocalist, and the legendary Mahotella Queens. With tickets priced at E200 and available exclusively on Computicket, attendees are in for a treat.

However, for those who would want to purchase tickets at the gate, there is no need to worry. Kicking off at 6:30 pm, the evening will begin with a captivating performance by Velemseni, followed by the charismatic Msandi Ka Baba.

Mlindo the Vocalist and the iconic Mahotella Queens will then take the stage, paving the way for the grand finale by the one and only Ntando. With such a diverse lineup, the event promises to be a celebration of vintage music, aiming to preserve the essence of old-school genres.

Ntando’s inclusion in the lineup has sparked excitement among his fans in Eswatini, as it has been quite some time since he last performed in the country. Known for his mellow style and soulful voice, Ntando Bangani has made a significant impact in the music industry.

Having achieved numerous accolades, including platinum albums and a South African Music Award for Record of the Year in 2006, Ntando’s two-decade-long career speaks for itself. His journey began in 2003 with the release of his debut album, ‘Kwantu.’

Event organizer Msandi Ka Baba expressed the motivation for hosting this show, emphasizing the importance of promoting local music and live performances. In a world dominated by electronic music, the event aims to preserve the value of vintage sounds. Msandi added that the show also aims to create a network between the international and local markets, empowering each other in the process.

Mlindo The Vocalist

Lindokuhle Mgedeza, professionally known as Mlindo the Vocalist is a South African singer and songwriter. He initially gained notable recognition following his debut single, Amablesser, taken from his debut album, Emakhaya.

He started music at a tender age when he joined his church choir, Mlindo relocated to Eastern Cape where he joined the ‘Flow Riders’ hip hop group in 2010. He left in 2014 to form an acapella group called ‘White Bread’ in 2014, they had so many successes including winning the Search for The Stars talent show in Durban.

It was after he worked with DJ Tira’s Afroteinment record label that he became popular on social media and later got signed by Universal Music. Mlindo is known for his hit songs, Macala, Emakhaya, Usbahle, and Thanda Wena among others.

Mahhotela Queens

Mahotella Queens are a prolific South African female band that was founded in 1964 by music producer Rupert Bopape. They have performed and toured the world, boasting hundreds of recordings produced at Gallo-Mavuthela during their heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. The group is notable for their distinct vocal harmony sound, guitar-led music, and their fast stage dancing.

Velemseni

Velemseni is a multi-award-winning musical icon from the Kingdom of Eswatini. She is a singer and songwriter who expresses cinematic sounds that reflect the Eswatini culture and aesthetic. Genre dabbles in Jazz, Neo Soul, and Alt Afro Pop. Her voice is a gateway to a galaxy of pure bliss, with live performances acting as soulful portals. Her imprint, impact, and influence on the local music scene are nothing short of astronomical.
