IN a significant development aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu, had a cordial meeting with His Excellency Jeremy Liang, the Ambassador to the Republic of Taiwan.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore ways to further enhance cooperation and foster the already thriving relations between the two countries. During their discussions, Shakantu and Ambassador Liang highlighted the multitude of sectors in which Taiwan and Eswatini collaborate, including agriculture, health, education, and rural development programmes.

Acknowledging the importance of these areas, both parties expressed their commitment to continue working together to maximise the benefits gained from these partnerships. Ambassador Liang emphasised Taiwan’s unwavering support towards stimulating economic growth in Eswatini. The commitment of Taiwan to this goal was greatly appreciated by Shakantu, who expressed gratitude for the continued assistance.

The collaborative efforts between the two nations have already yielded significant progress, and the meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the shared commitment to furthering these positive utcomes. Recognising the potential for mutual benefit, Minister Shakantu and Ambassador Liang explored innovative ways to expand cooperation and explore new areas of collaboration.

They discussed the importance of fostering a relationship that not only concentrates on current successful initiatives but also seeks to diversify partnerships to encompass other areas of development. Both Shakantu and Ambassador Liang recognised the value of a robust partnership built on mutual respect and shared objectives.

They agreed that strengthening cooperation between Taiwan and Eswatini ould not only serve the interests of both nations but also contribute to regional stability and economic growth. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Shakantu expressing gratitude for Taiwan’s ongoing support and reaffirming Eswatini’s commitment to deepening the longstanding cordial relations between the two countries. The fruitful discussions provided a foundation for further collaboration, enabling both nations to pursue joint efforts for the benefit of their respective citizens and broader regional development.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Shakantu expressed that the Government will continue their unrelenting efforts to support the Republic of Taiwan and His Majesty and emaSwati in the recent historic Sibaya emphasised facilitating international relations that will aid the country with investment opportunities.
