The Manzini Municipal Council has launched a comprehensive Youth Database Collection Programme.
This initiative aims to not only connect with the city’s young inhabitants but also gain valuable insights into their needs, aspirations, and challenges.
“We are just collecting this vital information for our youth,” explains Mathokoza Thwala, Manzini’s Public Relations Officer.

“The municipality is doing this database collection so that it may have the relevant information on the youth and not that this programme has an employment angle”.
The municipality wants to build a robust database that empowers them to understand the demographics, talents, qualifications, and interests of young people around Manzini.
The programme, open to all youth residing within the boundaries of Manzini, aims to create a comprehensive profile of the city’s young population.

This includes collecting information on age, education level, skills, and areas of interest. Additionally, the programme seeks to identify the challenges faced by youth, such as unemployment.
The programme promises to be a vital step towards bridging the gap between the generations and building a Manzini that thrives on the energy and innovation of its young people.
As the data starts to populate the database, one thing is clear: the future of Manzini is not just in the hands of its youth but in the hands of a city that chooses to listen, engage, and empower them.
