The cruel hands of death have struck the cycling fraternity. This follows the tragic demise of Eswatini Cycling Association Executive member and Newcomm Wheels female rider Shirley Kenny-Motsa.
Shirley was the wife of Newcomm Wheels Principal and former national team coach Mbusi Motsa.
She was also a member of the Golden Foot Athletics Club and worked for the National Maize Corporation (NMC) AS Chief Financial Officer. Motsa passed away on Saturday morning after she was hit by a truck while jogging along the Manzana road in Mbabane.
Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA) President Sifiso ‘Zwide’ Nxumalo mourned the demise of Motsa.
“We are saddened by the passing on of our vibrant executive member Shirley Motsa. She was one of our dedicated members and we will forever value her contribution to the sport,” he said.
Nxumalo expressed his condolences to the Motsa family and her workplace, the National Maize Corporation (NMC).
The late Motsa attended several local and international races such as the Dischem race and Amashova classic which are annually held in South Africa, among others.
