Eswatini Meat Industries expands to Mbabane, unveiling new Meat Plaza

In a momentous occasion that brought smiles and excitement to the residents of Mbabane, Eswatini Meat Industries (EMI) spread its wings to the heart of the city with the grand opening of the Mbabane Meat Plaza.

The vibrant hues of blue adorned the streets as eager customers flocked to the new establishment on Friday, March 29, 2024, eager to experience the promise of quality meat at affordable prices.


The atmosphere was electric as emaSwati lined up early in the morning, eager to be among the first to explore the culinary delights that awaited them at the newly unveiled plaza.

The first 200 customers were greeted with gifts, adding to the ‘Easters’ spirit that enveloped the city.

With the unveiling of the Embiveni Meat Plaza, Mbabane welcomes a new culinary landmark that is poised to become a hub for meat enthusiasts.

Offering a diverse selection of high-quality meat products and culinary essentials, the plaza promises to redefine the shopping experience for those seeking premium meat options.

In an exclusive interview with Investment Cluster CEO, Paul Lwiindi, it was revealed that over E60 million was invested in the facility, underscoring EMI’s commitment to providing top-notch services to its customers.

Lwiindi also highlighted the creation of 60 new job opportunities for emaSwati, further solidifying EMI’s contribution to the local economy.

“We have established a First World Meat Market right here in Mbabane. Our goal is to expand the facility and elevate the standards of meat shopping in the region,” Lwiindi remarked, hinting at the bright future that lies ahead for the Embiveni Meat Plaza.


This milestone comes on the heels of the successful opening of the Matsapha Embiveni Meat Plaza just three months prior, on December 15, 2023, signalling EMI’s unwavering dedication to serving the community with excellence and innovation.
