Capital city giants Mbabane Swallows have jumped to the summit of the MTN Premier League log table.
The ‘Beautiful Birds’ secured a 2-0 win over struggling Moneni Pirates at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre on Saturday to move to the pole position with 37 points after 20 games.
‘Umkhonto kaShaka’ might only enjoy the position for the next 48 hours, with other title-contenders in Young Buffaloes, Royal Leopard and Green Mamba will be in action. The Caleb Ngwenya-led side needed second half goals from Kwakhe Tfwala and Ayanda Gadlela to outsmart the relegation-threatened ‘Buccaneers’.

Pirates are currently sailing low as they are rooted at the bottom of the table with 14 points after 20 matches. Elsewhere, Nsingizini Hotspurs ended their three winless jinxes against Mbabane Highlanders, where they came from a goal down to beat the capital city giants 2-1 at Nsukuwansuku Stadium, Mhlume.
The Shiselweni-based side handed the ‘Black Bull’s new head coach Milton Dlamini a rude welcome in his first assignment with the inconsistent crowd-pullers. Ezulwini United boosted their hopes in the league after surviving with a 4-0 demolition of Madlenya at Mayaluka Stadium. The result moved the ‘Stingers’ to position 12 with 17 points after 20 matches.
