South African musician Aymos has been revealed as the latest addition to the already star-studded lineup of the highly anticipated Umuthi Fest.

The festival, a brainchild of Afro-Pop sensation Blaq Diamond in partnership with Megasound Events, is poised to be a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and unity like never seen before.

 

Set against the backdrop of showcasing the finest South African talent and creativity, Umuthi Fest has already garnered attention with confirmed performances by industry heavyweights such as Blaq Diamond, Sjava, and Eswatini’s star, Diba Diba. Now, with the inclusion of Aymos, the festival is gearing up to be a must-attend event for music enthusiasts nationwide.

Aymos slated for Umuthi Fest

Scheduled to take place on April 18, 2024, at the prestigious Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre’s Outdoor Arena, Umuthi Fest promises to be a day filled with electrifying performances and unforgettable moments.

Tickets for Umuthi Fest are currently up for grabs on Computicket, with presale general admission priced at E150 and VIP tickets at E400. For the spontaneous souls among us, fret not, as tickets will also be available at the gate for E200.

Babili Amos Shili, known by his stage name Aymos, has made a significant impact on the South African music scene with his soulful Amapiano sound.

Renowned for his hit single ‘Emcimbini,’ produced by the dynamic duo Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, Aymos has garnered a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim.

Aymos’ musical journey began in the church, where his powerful vocals were first discovered. In high school, he formed his choir, showcasing his natural talent and passion for music.

In 2020, he released a collaborative album with Mas Musiq titled ‘Shonamalanga,’ which earned him nominations at the 27th South African Music Awards for Best Amapiano Album and Best Duo/Group of the Year.

In September 2021, Aymos released his debut solo album, ‘Yimi Lo,’ featuring collaborations with industry heavyweights such as Kabza De Small, Major League DJz, Josiah De Disciple, and DBN Gogo.

Continuing his musical journey, Aymos collaborated on the album ‘African Lullabies Part 2’ by Platoon in May 2022, further expanding his reach and influence.

His single ‘Fatela’ with Ami Faku, released in October 2022, achieved multi-platinum status in South Africa, further cementing Aymos’ status as a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
