Eswatini Housing Board has increased its rentals by 3.9 per cent as of April 1, 2024.
This was stated in a recently released memorandum by the Head of Property Management Sanele Bhembe which was also posted on the EHB Facebook page and website.
The increment follows another increment of 3.8 per cent in 2023 which was also effected on April 1, 2023.
In the previous memo, Bhembe also revealed that the Housing Board has partnered with Ensure Insurance Brokers to provide insurance on tenants’ property up to the value of E100 000.
“This will be a monthly fee of E148 and tenants could also insure their vehicles at a premium of four (4) per cent of the motor vehicle valuation amount,” Bhembe had said in the previous memo to the tenants.

With the new rate in effect, the rent at old Mobeni both Mbabane and Matsapha will increase from E1 730 to E1 795 while at Enhlanhleni and Kuyehlela Flats, the rent will hike from E3 150 to E3 275.
Meanwhile, a two-bedroom townhouse will now cost E5 045 from E5245.
Residents were reminded that their lease agreements elapsed on March 31, 2024.
“The EHB hereby extends its lease renewal option to you and your family and you are required to sign and return the attached renewal option. Deadline for lease renewal is April 1, 2024,” the memo reads.
Meanwhile, the Eswatini Housing Board has invited tender applications for Security and Cash in Transit.The deadline for submission is April 22, 2024.
