The Eswatini National Trade Facilitation Committee (ENTFC) has announced the commencement of an innovative study on the Gender Dimensions of Trade Facilitation, generously supported by the World Bank.
This initiative aims to delve into the intricacies of cross-bord
er trade, focusing particularly on the challenges faced by traders and customs brokers at the firm level, with a special emphasis on the experiences of women engaged in such activities.
The primary objective of this survey is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the obstacles encountered by stakeholders involved in cross-border trade within Eswatini.
By conducting in-depth interviews with various participants, the study aims to unearth valuable insights that will inform future trade policies and procedures, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and inclusivity of trade practices in the country.
“This study represents a significant step forward in our efforts to promote gender equality and foster a more conducive environment for trade in Eswatini,” reads the statement issued by E. Nathi Dlamini, Co-Chair of the ENTFC and Chief Executive Officer of Business Eswatini.

Further, local enumerators, selected from the University of Eswatini in collaboration with Surveya Global, will conduct the interviews.
