Old Mutual has extended a helping hand to four bright young minds at the SOS Children’s Village, providing them with a generous sponsorship of E86,000.
The beneficiaries of this sponsorship are Mahlubi Dlamini who does Business Management (BM), Xolile Ndlangamandla who studies Psychology,
Thandeka Maseko who does Human Resources (HR), and Siyabonga Dlamini who studies Information, Communication and Technology (ICT).
With this financial support, Old Mutual aims to pave the way for their academic success and future career prospects. Notably, the sponsorship will run until the end of their respective courses.
The sponsorship reveal was held at Old Mutual Head Office on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of Old Mutual CEO Muzi Bell, Senior Development Officer Elvis Dlamini emphasized the company’s commitment to education and community welfare.
“As an organisation, some of the key pillars underpinning our CSI policy are education and health amongst many others.
Therefore, when we received the proposal to assist SOS, they couldn’t resist being part of something that is designed to meet the needs of our children,” he said.
He expressed admiration for SOS Children’s Village’s unwavering dedication to supporting underprivileged children, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in nurturing the next generation.
“It truly takes a village to raise a child, and through this sponsorship, we are honoured to play a role in shaping a brighter future for these young individuals,” remarked Dlamini.
He lauded SOS Children’s Village for its resilience in the face of challenges, emphasizing the significance of initiatives that prioritize the well-being of vulnerable children.
“In a world that is riddled with different calamities and threats, it is easy to lose sight of such key activities, but they have not done that.

Instead, they rose above the challenges being faced and continued seeking ways of assisting destitute children,” he remarked.
This sponsorship not only underscores Old Mutual’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) policy but also reflects the company’s broader ethos of responsible business practices.
By investing in education and community development, Old Mutual exemplifies its commitment to making a positive impact on society.
“This is just one of many initiatives that Old Mutual has engaged in, driven by our Responsible Business programme that enables the company to be responsible towards her customers, employees, communities, and the environment.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Phindile Nhleko-Makama, the National Director of SOS Children’s Village, remarked that they are truly honoured to be accepting the generous gift from Old Mutual.
She said they believe that this sponsorship will make a very significant impact on the students’ lives as they will be able to achieve their dreams as well.
“We believe that children deserve a loving home, they deserve a stable home, they deserve opportunities so that they can reach their full potential,” she said.
Nhleko-Makama declared that education is very critical for them in terms of breaking the cycle of poverty and providing a brighter future for young people.
She said education is one of the powerful tools that can empower individuals to reach their full potential and make a positive impact in the communities.
