The two were murdered by their son over an elderly grant and no one has come forward to claim the bodies.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) is struggling to locate the relatives of the elderly couple who were allegedly murdered by their son.

According to the REPS, Deputy Police Information and Communication, Assistant Superintendent, Nosipho Mnguni, no one has come forward to the police to claim their corpses.

“We appeal to the public at large to help us locate the relatives of the deceased, Busisiwe Sithole (76) and Mario Sithole (80) who were both residing at Maphungwane in the Lubombo Region before their demise.

Mario Sithole originates from Mozambique,” said Mnguni in an interview with EDN on Sunday afternoon.

The people of Maphungwane are still baffled after the alleged brutal murder of these two elderly persons.

Impeccable sources revealed to Eswatini Daily News that the couple were allegedly stabbed several times by their son after they refused to surrender their monthly Elderly Social Grant to him.

Government disburses monthly, E500 per elderly person nationwide and according to the sources, the suspect who is also their son was agitated after they refused to give him the money.

However, a 36-year-old man from Maphungwane has since been arrested in connection with the murder of two elderly people who it has been alleged are his parents.

“The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) reported that on Friday, May 10, at 8 am, Siteki Police arrested and charged a 36-year-old man of Maphungwane in connection with two murder cases,

whereby a 78-year-old man and a 76-year -old woman of Maphungwane were found dead after being stabbed several times with an unknown object while inside a house at Maphungwane area,” read the Police reports.

Further, the sources revealed to EDN that the suspect tended to assault the deceased and take money from them by force.
