Eswatini’s vibrant youth has once again been called to the forefront of change as the UN Bring Your Fire Live Dialogues, in collaboration with MTN Bushfire, extends an invitation to engage in critical discussions shaping their future.

The upcoming sessions, scheduled for Tuesday, 21 May, and Wednesday, 22 May 2024, offer a platform for young minds to address pressing issues and ignite positive action.

Set to take place at the University of Eswatini’s Kwaluseni Campus, the Live Dialogues aim to empower youth voices on matters of significance, providing an opportunity to win tickets to the highly anticipated MTN Bushfire festival.

The topics on Tuesday include ‘Understanding the Scope and Impact of Gender-Based Violence in Eswatini’ and ‘Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development: Navigating Employment Challenges and Food Security in Eswatini.’

The first dialogue, hosted by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) & USAID, focuses on SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and features a distinguished panel including representatives from various sectors addressing gender-based violence.

The subsequent session delves into youth employability and food security, reflecting SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), with experts sharing insights on navigating employment challenges for the youth in Eswatini.

Wednesday’s discussions will revolve around HIV/AIDS key population inclusion, human trafficking, as well as peace, justice, and strong institutions.

These dialogues provide a platform for Eswatini’s youth to delve into critical issues impacting their communities and explore avenues for collective action and progress.

The initiative, rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and MTN Bushfire’s call to action, Bring Your Fire, presents a dynamic approach to fostering positive social and environmental change.

By engaging youth in meaningful dialogues and capacity-building activities, the initiative aims to cultivate a generation of change-makers committed to driving sustainable development and social impact.
