His Majesty King Mswati III has urged Taiwanese students to bring back the first-world experiences they have encountered.
The king expressed his excitement at the student’s enrollment in a variety of engineering and science fields up to the PHD level, stating that Eswatini should benefit from their training in a first-world nation, particularly in the highly technological projects the country has undertaken.
Many of the students expressed gratitude for their training and exposure in a first-world country, saying they were now eager to apply this knowledge at home.

His Majesty emphasised that these skills when combined with living and learning in a first-world country, should catalyze the nation’s goal of becoming a developed country.
Currently, Eswatini falls into the lower-middle-income category.
He acknowledged that while some were acquiring knowledge and skills, others were there to impart skills and gain valuable experience, all of which would be of vital benefit to emaSwati.
“What also impressed me is hearing that after gaining experience here, you are eager to return home and impart this knowledge to your fellow citizens.
It is also good that you are gaining experience in Taiwan, which is a first-world country. I have heard you talk about the beauty of technology in transportation and shopping malls, where smart cards are used.
Well, we will soon adopt this technology back home, as we have already witnessed its use in purchasing airline tickets and other commodities,” the King noted.
The King further charged the students to serve as advocates for investment in Eswatini to draw Taiwanese businesspeople to the country.

“While here, I have met some businesspeople and discussed investment issues. I came to the realization that there is a need to enhance our understanding about our country and its potential.”
“It would be good that you make time to meet and share knowledge about the investment opportunities.
It would also be beneficial for these companies to use you as their representatives as opposed to entrusting their investments to unfamiliar individuals.
This will help build confidence in doing business in the country and lead to increased investment, so make use of the embassy to introduce you to these businesspeople,” urged His Majesty.
