Eswatini Prime Minister

Happy #AfricaDay, Eswatini! I am a proud African. Africa is my home. I was born in Africa, raised in Africa, and educated in Africa.

I do not only live in Africa, but the African Spirit, Ubuntu, lives in me. I have more than one billion fellow Africans that I can call my brothers and sisters. Together, we must educate Africans to rise and defend our African identity.

This year’s Africa Day theme, “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa” speaks strongly to us as His Majesty’s Government.

I am happy that His Majesty’s Government has initiated a comprehensive review and redesign of the education system of the Kingdom of Eswatini. The objective is to strengthen our education system to be among the best in Africa, and to educate Africans fit for the future because the future belongs to Africa.

Prime Minister Russell Dlamini

This is ambitious but not out of reach as Eswatini once offered the best education in the region. Our partners are ready to follow our leadership and work with the national multi-sectoral task team to review and strengthen our entire education system.

In the meantime, Government will intensify efforts to ensure that no child is left behind. All citizens of Eswatini must be given an opportunity to reach their full potential, and we cannot go wrong with education. That is why the Government offers free primary education and subsidised tertiary education.

We count on the support and patience of the Nation as we work on the transformation of our education system to ensure that it is fully inclusive, one of quality, resilient and helps emaSwati access the skills they need for today’s and tomorrow’s economy.
