Some families have joined a long list of the homeless after a windstorm ravaged their homesteads on Monday evening at Sigangeni.

Sigangeni falls under the Siphocosini Constituency in the Hhohho Region where the Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula is a Member of Parliament (MP).

According to the Constituency’s Indvuna yeNkhundla, Thami Shongwe the storm was so disastrous that three homeless found themselves with roofless structures in the twinkling of an eye.

“We thank the National Disaster Management Agency for exercising ‘Nkwe’ as the families received the assistance of tents which could be used temporarily to remedy the situation,” he said.

The Constituency’s headman then appealed for assistance from individuals, and businesspeople to come to the rescue of the affected families.

“These families need any kind of help they can get, it could be financial, or emotional assistance.

As we are speaking now, these families are going to spend their nights in the cold,” Shongwe said.
