Deputy Master Lindelwa Magagula has been quoted as the person responsible for Dlamini’s other wife Phumlile Methula not getting anything from her late husband’s estate.

Methula told the commission that she was not tekad by Dlamini, but he paid lobola and they were planning to have umtsimba and later register the marriage formally, unfortunately, he died before they could do so.

She stated that when she went to Master as a wife, Deputy Master Magagula told her she was not smeared with red ochre (libovu) so she did not qualify to be part of the beneficiaries.

“Even when I had affidavits from family members confirming that I was his wife, she refused and ruled out that I was not eligible to be part of the distribution. All I’m asking for is that my children get their rightful share,” Methula said.

She further stated that she was married to Dlamini for 22 years, resulting in five children in the marriage and a home at Mafutseni.

The Commission questioned what right the office had to make that decision and what Magagula’s conclusion and directive were based on.

Dlamini’s siblings who were also present told the Commission that they had a problem with how Magagula handled the file because she appointed the executor without their consent, and they were excluded in all the processes including drafting the liquidation and distribution account.

Another was Dlamini’s nephew who alleged that Magagula did not want any of the family members at the office on a directive from Nhlabatsi.

“She would kick us out of the office and say we were not family, such that we had to sit outside when accompanying our aunts.

There was a time she threatened to call the police on us,” said the nephew.

Magagula will also be summoned by the Commission to give answers on the allegations made by the family,

specifically on the fact that she refused Mathabela access to the estate because she was never smeared with libovu yet there were affidavits from the family confirming her marriage to their brother and son.
