Somhlolo National Stadium came alive with the energetic sounds and colors of Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage as the Inyatsi Schools Arts and Culture Competitions continued.
Schools from Hhohho South took center stage on Thursday, where they delivered breathtaking performances in various traditional and modern categories.
This week-long competition, which began on Monday, has seen enthusiastic participation from schools across Lubombo, Hhohho, Shiselweni, and will conclude with the Manzini region’s eliminations on Friday.

The cultural extravaganza at Somhlolo featured an impressive array of performances, including Sibhaca, Ingadla, Ummiso, Drum Majorettes, African Dance, Kwaito Boys and Girls, and Drama.
The event was graced by the presence of Eswatini Arts and Culture Council CEO Stanley Dlamini, who has been a consistent supporter of the competitions since the launch of Inyatsi Foundation’s generous sponsorship last Friday.
During the launch event, Dlamini praised the collaboration between the Inyatsi Foundation and the Arts and Culture Council, describing it as a crucial partnership for the development of the country’s youth and cultural preservation.
“We are currently touring schools, educating learners about preserving their culture and commercializing art,” Dlamini remarked, highlighting the council’s commitment to nurturing and promoting cultural awareness among young Swazis.

He also spoke about the council’s global initiatives, which include showcasing Eswatini’s culture at international festivals in countries such as India and Dubai.
These efforts aim to put Eswatini on the global cultural map while fostering a sense of pride and identity among the nation’s youth.
The performances at Somhlolo National Stadium were said to be a testament to the talent and dedication of the participating schools.
Elangeni High School and Lobamba National High School emerged as the top performers in most categories.
The competition has also opened business opportunities for MSMEs, with stalls available for vendors at a fee of E500, adding a commercial dimension to the cultural celebration
