Man steals cattle worth E33,000.00

Heifer snatcher! Sicelo Matsebula 31 of Hawane area was granted E3000 bail for stealing three cattle valued at E33,000.00.

The cattle were different breeds of heifers. Heifers are female cows who have not yet given birth to a calf. Farmers can raise heifers for dairy or meat.

 

 

The accused person was charged with the offence of contravening section 3(a) of the stock theft act.

That on January 8, 2024, at Maphalaleni, in the Hhohho district, he did wrongfully, unlawfully, and intentionally steal three cattle valued at E33,000.00, the property of or in the lawful possession of Mfanzodlani Charles Tsabedze and thus contravened the above-cited Act.

He stole a red heifer with an ear tag number:909/01476 valued at E 11,000.00, a brown heifer with an ear tag number 871/01877 valued at E 11, 000.00 and sweetened his deal with a cream white heifer with an ear tag number 70/00837 valued at E 11, 000.0.

In the second count, Matsebula is said to have on November 14, 2023, at the Nkoyoyo area, in the Hhohho district, wrongfully, unlawfully, and intentionally stolen a brownish cow black with an ear tag numbered 91/01074 valued at E 14, 000.00 the lawful property or in possession of Zakhele Brian Vilakati thus contravening the above cited.

 

 

Tekelane Makhosi Masuku of Mantabeni was charged with the offence of copper theft.

On or about June 24, 2024, at or near Mantabeni area in the district of Hhohho, the said accused person did wrongfully, unlawfully, and intentionally steal copper cable valued at E 4810.00 the property of or in lawful possession of Samson Mdluli, and thus commits the said offence.

He was fined E1000 or spend a year in prison after mitigating for leniency.

In the same court, three men were charged with the crime of forgery and Uttering.

Nsabiyera Emanuel, Nhabanga Julia, Sacolo Nosipho, and a company called BSP Investment were said to have committed this crime.

 



In that upon or about February 14, 2024, at or near Mbabane Town in the Hhohho region, the said accused persons either each or all of them acting jointly in the furtherance of a common purpose did unlawfully and with intent thereby to defraud and the prejudice of the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS).

They offered, uttered, and put off the said forged Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC document no. ERS_97c9_453a) for tender to the Municipal Council of Mbabane, the accused persons when they so offered, uttered and put off the aforesaid instrument did so knowing very well that it had not and could not have been issued by the ERS.

Since accused number 4 had an outstanding value-added Tax Liability amounting to E791, 846-12 thus committed the said crime.

In their second account accused number 1, 2, 3, and 4, are charged with the offence of contravening section 58 of the Value Added Tax Act 12 of 2011.

 



In that, on or about February 14, 2024, at or near Mbabane town, in the Hhohho Region, the said accused persons, either each or all of them, acting jointly in the furtherance of a common purpose, unlawfully evaded.

The payment of Value Added Tax (VAT) already due (for the period/s April-June 2022 and April-June 2023) by presenting (for tender) to the Municipal Council of Mbabane a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC document no. ERS_97c9_453a), knowing very well that it had not and could not have been issued by the Eswatini Revenue Service.

A man stole three cattle worth E33,000.00

Abdul Michapo, Akida Mohamed Akida, Omari Salimu Saidi, and Nhlanhla Mnisi are said to have on June 24, 2024, at Kamtjopane in the Hhohho region.

The said accused persons and not being holder of a valid licence or permit did wrongfully and unlawfully possess 3.5 kg of dagga while driving a black opel sedan registered BT 96 FN GP, a potential or harmful drug and thus contravened the said Act. The trio was fined E1000 each or a year in prison.

In a single case of sexual domestic violence act (SODV) a 53-year-old woman was cautioned and discharged after committing a domestic violence offence against her son-in-law.

Thabisile Shabangu of Macamela received the court’s mercy when she appeared before Manzini Principal Magistrate David Khumalo, charged for contravening Section 77 (1) (a) of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act of 2018.

 

 



She was cautioned and discharged on two counts of contravening the SODV Act, after explaining that her son-in-law had invaded her homestead and caused violence.

According to the charge sheet, in count one, the accused, as the mother-in-law to Sifiso Mkhatshwa, assaulted him by manhandling him.

This incident occurred at Nyakeni on April 24. In count two, Shabangu is said to have insulted Mkhatshwa by uttering unpalatable words. For this offence, she contravened Section 77 (1) (C).
