Eswatini celebrates the outstanding achievement of 11-year-old Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga, who recently made history as the first liSwati to qualify for the prestigious Dance World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic. 

Prime Minister Russell Dlamini has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ndoni for her exemplary performance, which earned her a well-deserved silver medal at the international competition.


The Prime Minister commended Ndoni for her courage and artistry on the global stage, emphasising the significance of her achievement in raising the profile of Eswatini on an international platform. He also recognised Talent ‘n’ Motion Academy for their dedication to nurturing young talent and helping them reach their full potential.

“Your bravery as you competed in such a daunting world competition is one for the books. We also congratulate Talent ‘n’ Motion Academy for the amazing work of mentoring young people to reach their full potential,” he said.

Reflecting on Ndoni’s triumph, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of supporting and empowering youth to pursue their dreams, whether in the arts, sports, or any other field. He praised Ndoni for breaking barriers and inspiring young people across the nation to strive for excellence and to make a mark on the world stage.


“Your victory illuminates the hopes and dreams of all young people working towards fulfilling their dreams, be it in arts, sports or elsewhere. It is an affirmation that it is possible to break barriers and to stand up and be counted,” Dlamini added.

Ndoni’s journey to the Dance World Cup was made possible with the invaluable support from the Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council, which covered her travel expenses and demonstrated the government’s commitment to fostering the development of young talent in the country.

“It also pleases us to note that Ndoni’s travel expenses were covered by Government, through the Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council. His Majesty’s Government will continue to support our young people towards achieving their dreams,” he said. 

The Prime Minister’s message of pride and admiration for Ndoni resonated with the entire nation, as her remarkable achievement has brought joy and inspiration to the hearts of all Eswatini citizens. Her success serves as a beacon of hope for aspiring young performers and underscores the limitless potential that lies within the youth of Eswatini.


“Once again, congratulations, our little Ndoni. Eswatini is so proud of you,” concluded the premier. As Eswatini basks in the glory of Ndoni’s success, her story stands as a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and creativity in achieving one’s dreams.

The Dance World Cup finals saw 37 esteemed judges from around the world coming together to evaluate the exceptional talents on display, further underscoring the significance of Ndoni’s accomplishment on the global stage.

Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga’s journey in the world of dance began at the tender age of 4 when she embarked on her ballet training at Talent ‘n’ Motion Academy in 2017. Since then, she has garnered numerous accolades, including a gold medal at the South African Ballet Competition in Cape Town in July 2022, showcasing her unwavering passion, dedication, and talent in the art of dance.
