Maloma extends condolences after truck driver’s death

Maloma Colliery Limited, Eswatini’s largest anthracite coal producer, has confirmed the tragic incident involving a truck driver from Parsons Transport and extended condolences to the family.

In an official statement, the company announced, “We regret to inform you that Enock Musa Mhlanga, aged 47, a driver employed by Parsons Transport, a South African Company, was certified deceased at the Lubombo Referral Hospital. May his soul rest in peace.”

The incident which is currently under investigation by the Royal Eswatini Police Services, has left the company and its stakeholders in deep sorrow.

The management further asserted that the company sympathizes with the family and friends of the deceased.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Mhlanga during this difficult time.

At Maloma, safety is our utmost priority, and we are committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all individuals on our premises.

We are fully cooperating with the authorities to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and to prevent such occurrences in the future,” the statement continued.

Maloma Colliery Limited has been widely recognized for its astonishing growth over the past three years under new management.

This growth has significantly increased the company’s revenue, which also has positively impacted Eswatini’s economy.

Again, the company’s devotion to safety standards has been well-noted and praised.

This is evidenced by the establishment of a state-of-the-art clinic on their premises and other clear safety measures put in place in the mine.
