The Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) has reported that the country has recorded impressive inbound visits in June with arrivals surging by 36.5 per cent compared to the same month last year.

This has marked a notable turnaround towards pre-pandemic levels.

According to the ETA latest monthly report from the 2024 monthly statistical release, Eswatini welcomed a record 83,940 tourists in June, reflecting a significant increase of 36.5 per cent compared to the 61,451 recorded in the same period last year.

The increase in arrivals was also attributed to the MTN Bushfire festival which took place in the last weekend of May into early June.

The month reportedly accounted for the second-highest international visitation month of 2024 just behind January.
