An over-50-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was tragically discovered dead on the side of the road at around 6 am.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are as puzzling as they are tragic. Both of his legs were found cut off, leading to speculation and concern within the community.

The police have launched an investigation into this unusual case, leaving many questions unanswered and emotions running high.

In an exclusive interview with Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the authorities shed some light on the ongoing investigation.

“We are still in the process of gathering evidence and information related to this case.

It is a complex situation, and we urge the community to remain patient as we work to uncover the truth,” Superintendent Vilakati stated.

Despite the official statement, a sense of mystery surrounds the incident, with a non-disclosure source hinting at details yet to be revealed.

“We can confirm the occurrence of the incident, but due to the sensitive nature of the case, we are unable to provide further information at this time,” the source mentioned, further deepening the enigma surrounding the man’s untimely demise.

The community’s grief was compounded by the absence of any reported fatal road accidents in the preceding hours, leading to further speculation regarding the circumstances of the man’s death.

As investigations continue, the authorities are faced with the challenging task of piecing together the events leading to this tragic end and providing closure to the bereaved family and friends.

Meanwhile, a sobering reminder of the dangers of reckless behaviour emerged as it was revealed that there were 138 cases of drunken driving reported in the past week alone.

The alarming statistics serve as a call to action for road safety measures and responsible behaviour behind the wheel, echoing the importance of valuing human lives and ensuring the well-being of all members of the community.
