The 7th edition of the Eswatini Quality Awards is set to provide an enabling environment for the development and growth of businesses and industry.

This was revealed by The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade Principal Secretary Melusi Masuku.
He was speaking during the official launch of the Eswatini Quality Awards held on Thursday at the Ministry’s board room.

Masuku said this year the Ministry will be conducting the 7th Quality Awards event, since their inaugural in Eswatini.

“The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Trade, in fulfilling its mandate of providing an enabling environment for the development and growth of businesses and industry has embarked on a program that recognizes companies/organizations,” he said.

 

He further said: “Organizations that have made a conscious effort and commitment in promoting a quality culture in Eswatini.

The eventual winner of Eswatini Quality awards 2023 in two diffrent categories

These are organizations/businesses which integrate quality principles, practices, and management systems in their business operations,”

Masuku further said, that the commitment to implementing quality standards and systems also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as companies/organizations develop systems such as Food Safety System (ISO 2200).

“Environmental Management System (ISO 1400) which aims to protect human life, animal health, and the environment.

We also, need to take note that quality enhances access to products and services in the regional and international markets,” he said.

Thus, the Quality Awards Programme seeks to assist companies in taking advantage of market opportunities that have been afforded by the liberalization of trade policies in the regional and international markets.
