Every corner of the world seems to be bursting with so-called ‘talent,’ and in Eswatini, a gem emerges—one that shines just a bit brighter than the rest.

Young Zesh, a self-proclaimed superstar has decided that waiting for opportunities is so yesterday. Instead, he’s out there crafting his path and, in the process, winning hearts (and possibly a few eye rolls) across the nation.

Last Saturday, the Sondelani Wine & Malt venue was transformed into a veritable shrine of musical prowess as Young Zesh embarked on his Lwandiso album tour, joined by the ever-energetic South African sensation, Mduduzi Ncube. One might say it was a match made in musical heaven.

Mduduzi Ncube, a man known for his electrifying performances and repertoire that could make even the most stoic audience sway, graced the stage with an entrance that could only be described as grand.

His set list included crowd favourites such as ‘Sginci’ and the emotionally stirring ‘Angisakhoni.’ The audience whipped into a frenzy, and chanted along, creating an atmosphere so vibrant that one could almost hear the collective heartbeat of the crowd syncing to the rhythm.

If there’s anything that can be said about Mduduzi Ncube, it’s that he knows how to interact with his audience.

But the real star of the night was Young Zesh. With hits from his latest album, Lwandiso, such as Umendvo, Wena, Sivumeleni, Liphasela, and Lifu Lelimnyama, he took to the stage like a lion claiming its territory.

The crowd erupted with delight as he belted out his anthems, proving that he wasn’t just a figment of his imagination—he was a real-life sensation.

In a moment of humility, Young Zesh expressed his disbelief at the turnout. “I am short of words, Mankayane people. I honestly didn’t expect so many numbers to attend my show on August 17. Your love and support is too much,” he gushed.

But let’s not forget the icing on the cake—or should we say, the cherry on top of this musical sunday.

Just a week before this edition of the tour, on August 10, Young Zesh celebrated his 24th birthday at the Ehawini Lifestyle venue, once again with Mduduzi Ncube.
