On the third day of Umhlanga, Imbali braved the cold weather and displayed a unified front in preparation for the cutting of the reed.

This comes after His Majesty King Mswati III commissioned Imbali on Wednesday, August 29, 20244.

Inkhosatana Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe shared insights on fulfilling an order from their Majesties, promoting mutual respect and positive guidance among maidens.

Calling upon maidens countrywide to unite at the ongoing Umhlanga ceremony, emphasising the importance of tradition and solidarity.

The Princess said it was a great day filled with energetic spirits and intentional imbalance.

Princess Sakhizwe said she was happy that the maidens respected the King’s instruction to cut quality reed which can be used to decorate and fence the royal residence.

“The maidens had a safe and successful journey,” she said excitedly.

“We managed to get back to camping sites before sunset even though the numbers have increased this year.

I am particularly pleased that we heed the King’s instruction of getting the best reed that will build the most beautiful windbreakers,” she said.

She stated that the maidens were expected to proceed to the Ludzidzini Royal Residence tomorrow, where they would report to the King that they had successfully cut the reed and safely returned from Mpisi Farm.

“We will then rest the following day before delivering the reed on Sunday,” said the Princess.

“The Umhlanga main holiday is on Monday, and this is where we will dance in front of Their Majesties and then wait for the double celebration, which will take place on Wednesday,” she said.

The princess invited the nation to come in their numbers to attend the main day, promising an absolute spectacle.

“It will be a beautiful day, one that should not be missed out for anything! All roads lead to the Ludzidzini royal residence on Monday if you want to witness the beauty of Siswati culture,” she said.

Meanwhile, Princess Buhlebetive, who led the maidens at KaBhamsakhe, expressed gratitude to Their Majesties for supporting and encouraging them to preserve culture.

“I am very happy to see so many maidens attending this very important national event because it preserves our culture.

This is a very beautiful event and I hope more girls will attend. I also thank God for keeping us safe as we marched,” she said
