Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has highlighted the importance of supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with funding to ensure the sustainability of their businesses.

The Premier made these remarks during his tour of the 56th Eswatini International Trade Fair at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini, where he visited various exhibition stands that showcase a wide range of products and services.

Dlamini’s tour follows the official opening of the trade fair by His Majesty King Mswati III and King Misuzulu of the Zulu Nation recently.

The Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the high standards maintained by the exhibitors, many of whom are locally owned companies. He highlighted the significant role played by these businesses in driving the local economy.

“I was happy with my tour of the various stands. What pleased me more is that most of the companies are owned by emaSwati, which shows the big job that is being done by local business people,” Dlamini remarked during an interview with the media.

During his visit, the Prime Minister also made a stop at Pavilion 5, where he interacted with representatives from Inyatsi Group Holdings.

He commended the company for its contribution to national development, applauding the services and innovations showcased by its subsidiaries.

Dlamini also praised the work of Junior Achievement, a platform that promotes youth entrepreneurship. He noted the impressive innovations developed by young people and emphasized the need to provide certification for their products, enabling them to compete in both local and international markets.

“Some of these young innovators are now certified, and their products are already being showcased outside the country,” Dlamini said.

This year’s trade fair has been hailed as the largest to date, with technological advancements and digitization taking centre stage.
