She was appointed as CEO following a contentious legal battle initiated by some Mbabane councillors who argued that her appointment was not in line with proper procedure.
However, on Monday, a court judgment confirmed that her appointment was lawful, clearing the way for her to assume her role.
“I am here to work for the people of Mbabane, and I will ensure that I serve everyone, including those who did not endorse me,” Fakudze said.
She added that her priority is to transform Mbabane into a modern, technology-driven city, aiming to achieve the goal of making it a ‘smart city.’
This transformation will focus on improving technology and infrastructure to benefit all residents.
Fakudze also expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III for his continuous support of gender equality where she highlighted the fact that Eswatini women are granted equal opportunities in leadership roles.

“Eswatini is privileged to have a leader who reminds the nation to promote gender equality.
Women here are given the same opportunities as men, though it’s not always easy. But we are fortunate to have a King who champions this cause,” she said.
With 17 years of experience in municipal management, having worked at Siteki and Matsapha Town Councils before joining Mbabane, Fakudze said that she is no stranger to the challenges of local governance.
She acknowledged that the role is demanding but expressed the importance of collaboration in tackling the city’s challenges.
In addition to her municipal experience, Fakudze has also held senior positions at Eswatini Mobile and MTN Eswatini, which she believes will help her in bringing technological advancements to Mbabane.
Moreover, she made a pledge that she will work in the “Nkwe’ spirit which is the theme of the year for the Kingdom of Eswatini with government and other institution already adopted the theme.
The new CEO further hailed the team at the office stating that they have welcomed her well and she believes that together they will achieve great things.
