Today throngs of Imbali will gather at Mbangweni Royal Residence for the first day of the three colourful Umhlanga ceremony.
The Umhlanga weekend falls on the same weekend, where Emaswati have been urged to be cautious as the country is set for a cold front.
Temperatures are set to drop from today, September 20 until September 22, 2024, which is the entire Umhlanga weekend.

The cold front will pass through the country leading to rain, thunderstorms and possible light snowfall in higher regions.
Strong wind conditions are expected during the forecast period especially in the eastern parts, easing off on September 22, 2024.
Residents are advised to prepare for these conditions and follow updates on Eswatini Meteorological Services.
Meanwhile, after registering today, Imbali is expected to settle into their camps and prepare to go cut the reed to present the reed to Their Majesties tomorrow.
On Saturday Imbali will return their reeds to Their Majesties and further entrance them in a dance on Sunday.

September 20: Arrival and Registration Day.
September 21: Maidens embark on a journey to various centres to cut the reed
September 22: Dance in front of Their Majesties at Mbangweni Royal Residence.
