Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has departed for New York, where he will represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the Kingdom of Eswatini at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The high-level meeting will bring together global leaders to discuss pressing issues affecting the world today.
According to a statement released by the UN, the 79th session is a pivotal moment, as leaders will address a deeply divided world facing complex crises and conflicts.

The assembly, described as the only global forum where all countries—big or small—have an equal voice, will shape the solutions that could redefine the future.
The statement emphasized the importance of accountability among leaders and the involvement of people, particularly the youth, in shaping decisions that will impact generations to come.
“The future depends on everyone’s participation, decision-makers and everyday citizens alike. It’s up to all of us to act now for people, for the planet, and for our common future,” read the statement.

Recently, the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres briefed the media ahead of the opening of the 79th high-level session of the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future.
“I have one overriding message today: an appeal to Member States for a spirit of compromise. Show the world what we can do when we work together,” said the Secretary-General.
