This happened shortly after he allegedly tried to force himself on her.

The deceased was allegedly refusing to accept that the love affair was over and as such, reportedly forced the accused into the relationship against her will.

It is alleged that the deceased came to fetch the suspect at her parental home, which is also situated at Moneni, not far from his home and took her to a water hole, where he bought her some drinks.

After enjoying the drinks, the deceased is alleged to have forced the accused to go with him to his home, whereupon arrival, he allegedly forced himself on her.

The accused is alleged to have resisted the sexual advances towards her, something that did not sit well with the deceased who wielded a bush knife, with which he allegedly hacked her on the head.

After realising that she was bleeding after being hacked on the head with the bush knife, the accused is alleged to have bolted out of the house and ran towards a neighbour’s home, where she locked herself inside a house.

The deceased, still armed with the bush knife, is alleged to have pursued her and tried to force entry into the house where she was hiding.

The owner of the house is alleged to have tried to negotiate with the deceased to abort his mission and refrain from attacking the suspect, however, the neighbour’s plea is alleged to have fallen on deaf ears.

“While the neighbour and the deceased were still having the discussion, the accused grabbed a kitchen knife from inside the house, where she was hiding and she came out and charged towards the deceased.

Upon reaching him, she stabbed him once on the left collarbone,” said a source.

The deceased retreated and went back to his home, where upon arrival, he lost strength and fell on the ground next to a family member.

He is alleged to have later succumbed to the injury he sustained during the stabbing incident.

The suspect was rushed to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital, where she was treated and later arrested and charged with murder.
