The Deputy Prime Minister, Thulisile Dladla, and the Minister for Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini,

has recently officially handed over a newly built house to the Bhembe family at Estandini in Nkwene.

kosingiphile Bhembe, a 21-year-old living with a disability, and his two sisters had previously shared a small, deteriorating structure made of sticks and mud.

Thanks to the efforts of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), the family now has a proper home, complete with a pit latrine toilet, water tank, chickens, and a fenced yard.

Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini who is also Nkwene Member of Parliament praised the DPM for her dedication, noting that the family had endured these harsh living conditions for a long time.

He pledged to donate a bed for Nkosingiphile, while the DPM promised to provide goats to help support the family’s livelihood.

The Deputy Prime Minister further went to handover a house to a child-headed household in Zombodze Emuva which now has a decent place to live.

The family, consisting of a 15-year-old girl named Sikhulile and her three-year-old sibling, was abandoned by both parents and had been living in a single-room structure that leaked when it rained.

The DPM, together with local authorities, officially handed over a new house, along with a water tank, makeshift kitchen, and toilet.

Sikhulile expressed her gratitude, thanking the DPM for transforming their lives. DPM Dladla, in turn, thanked the community and local leaders for their ongoing support, urging them to continue caring for the children and protecting them from harm.

Member of Parliament Ntando Mkhonta expressed his appreciation for the swift construction of the house.

He recalled how deeply moved he had been when he first visited the family and found their home drenched by rain.

“The situation was dire, and I’m grateful for the timely response,” he said.Again, Zile Ndimande, a 76-year-old physically challenged resident of Nsalitje in Matsanjeni Inkhundla, is also a proud owner of a new house, thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister, Thulisile Dladla.

The DPM, along with the Principal Secretary Siboniso Nkambule, officially handed over the house to Ndimande and her daughter, who cares for her.

The handover ceremony was met with joy and excitement from the local community, as the elderly woman expressed her gratitude for the government’s efforts to improve her living conditions.

The DPM was hailed for continuing to champion initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable families across the country.
