The Eswatini Regional Arts & Culture Awards (NACAs) held its third segment on Friday in Manzini.

Hosted by the dynamic media personality and hip-hop sensation KRTC alongside the charming Lerato Mabilisa,

The event brought together a vibrant mix of artists, performers, and art enthusiasts to honour the outstanding contributions of individuals within the region’s creative landscape.

The ceremony took place at The George Hotel. From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted with an ambience that perfectly captured the essence of Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage.

With a full house eagerly awaiting the festivities, the stage was set for an unforgettable day of activities.

The event kicked off with captivating performances that set the tone for the celebrations. Lutsango, a traditional dance group, mesmerized the audience with their vibrant choreography, showcasing the beauty of Eswatini’s cultural dances.

This was followed by the soulful voice of gospel artist Wandile Sithole, who delivered a heartfelt performance that resonated with the audience.

The audience was treated to a lineup of talented performers, including the enchanting Afro-Soul artist Big Swazi, gospel sensation Scara Maziya, and Afro-house star Samu Once Again.

Each artist brought their unique style and energy, creating a celebratory atmosphere that had attendees on their feet, dancing and singing along.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the performance by ‘Samu Once Again’, known for her chart-topping hit “Ama2000.

” Her electrifying stage presence and captivating vocals had the crowd spellbound, and not only did she deliver a lively set that had everyone dancing, but she also emerged as one of the night’s biggest winners.

Samu was honoured with two prestigious awards: ‘Outstanding Song’ and ‘Outstanding Music Video’ for her popular track ‘Ama200.’

Another standout of the night was musician Denzero who took home the awards for ‘Outstanding Male Dancer’ and ‘Outstanding Indigenous Artist.’

The awards ceremony also celebrated visual artists, with Mpendulo Dlamini from DAWAD Studios winning the ‘Outstanding Fine Artist – Exhibition’ award.

Meanwhile, Lindelwa Matsebula of Aushie Arts was recognized with the ‘Outstanding Fine Artist – Painting’ award, honouring his exceptional talent in visual arts.

In the realm of performing arts, Siyabonga Lazaru Nkambule was crowned Outstanding Actor, while Mbali Didie Mshengu received the award for Outstanding Actress.

Their performances have captivated audiences and brought stories to life on stage, showcasing the incredible talent within the local theatre community.

The night also recognized the contributions of filmmakers, with Marandi Magagula scooping the Outstanding Screen Production Award.

In a heartwarming tribute to those who have paved the way for future generations, music legend Mshikishi and Dr Thembisa Khanya, a prominent figure in the Mnazini Choir, were presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The evening also saw Jiggs Thorne, the founder of House on Fire and MTN Bushfire Festival director, awarded the Arts Personality Award for his significant contributions to promoting arts and culture in the region.
Additional honorary awards were presented to Nhlanhla Shongwe, as well as the Ngculwini and Lwandle chiefdoms, which received recognition for their roles as cultural institutions that preserve and promote Swati heritage.

The NACAs, organized by the Eswatini National Council of Arts & Culture, serve as a vital platform for celebrating and rewarding excellence within the region’s artistic community.

By recognizing the diverse talents that exist within Eswatini, the awards contribute to fostering a sense of pride and cultural identity among artists and audiences alike.

In his address, the National Arts and Culture CEO, Stanley Dlamini, expressed their gratitude to the local community for their unwavering support of the arts.

He emphasized the importance of nurturing talent and providing platforms for artists to showcase their work, which ultimately contributes to the cultural richness of Eswatini.
